STATE CHAMPIONS MAKE IT A GREAT DAY FOR LANE COVE

Lane Cove proudly congratulates the 2004 Flying Eleven NSW State Champions, Andrew and Alison Chapman in 'River Rat', from Lane Cove 12ft Sailing Skiff Club.

On Sunday 15 February, Andrew and Alison went into the final heat not only having to beat the current National Champion, Will Moor from Manly in 'K', but also the National Runner-up, James Dorron in 'Lucky' also from Manly, by 3 places.

They fought to the lead by the end of the first triangle and left the others in their wake - a fantastic display of powerful sailing, determination and skillful covering tactics.

Lane Cove 12ft SSC is very proud to have such talented sailors representing our club.

We are also very proud of the outstanding performance of Allison Kenney and Rachel Massingham in 'A Little Tipsy'. With the lighter breezes not being to their advantage, they improved so much throughout the final weekend and, with an outstanding start and first leg, were 12th around the first mark and finished up recording their best ever in the top 40s. Well done, girls!

Evan Williams, sailing with Sam Sexton in Oasis of Avalon Club, had a great series with good results coming in 32nd overall, with a best of 21st and worst of 45th. Evan came in as 3rd Club member in the order of results ... well done!
