2007- 08 Season
The winter is nearly over with the 2007-08 Season kicking off on Saturday - I know that some of you are escaping Sydney and APEC for the weekend, whilst otheres are taking a south pacific island holiday so we may not a full compliment of sailors on the water. By my count CCCCCCC, YOYO, PRESTO, WIND DANCER, PIRAHNA, INSANITY FAIR, SUNDOWNER, HAKUNA MATATA, WIPE OUT, UNBELIEVABLE, MAXIMUM FORCE, METEORITE, TWEETY, NO SPEED LIMIT, HIGH CALIBRE, PANIC, OINK! OINK!, SUPERSONIC, ZIG ZAG AGAIN, GOTTA B, BABE, will all be sailing this season so with the MJs and visitors from Greenwich we should be able to have upwards of 30 juniors racing each week.

Shed space is going to be tight this season - shed space is for boats that are sailed regularly if you dont sail you may be asked to take your boat home to make room for active sailing boats.

This Friday and Saturday we will be hosting some of the more experienced Sabot sailors from across the Zone who have been winter training - they will be out with coaches Friday, sleep over Friday night and sailing/training again on Saturday. Depending on their program and the weather they may join in our race on Saturday.

Water temperature is about 17 degrees C at the momnet so make sure that you have not grown out of your wet suit and maybe throw in a polar fleece and may be a Beanie to wear to make sure you stay warm.

Drummoyne Training & MJs

The SNSW Sabots Association is again running three days of training during the October school holidays 8th, 9th and 10th. This is a great way to kick start the season, meet other kids and have a bit of fun while learning new skills. Look at www.sabot.com.au for the application form.

MJ sailors I know there is also training organised by the MJ Association in the October holidays - talk to Ross Gage your trusty Class Secretary for more info

Sabot Zone Championships

The interclub racing starts early this season with the SNSW Zone Championships to be held over the October long weekend - NOR and Sailing Instructions are on the sabot web site. I know that at leat 6 boats are coming up from Victoria and one from Queensland to sail in the Championships and have a practice on the waters where the National Championships are going to be held over Christmas.

End of the Rainbow

They say there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow so keep your eye out for any left behind from this rainbow that ended mid river.

See you Saturday for the start of the 2007- 08 Season

Andrew
