The Club’s Canteen does a lot to make the Club a fun place to be and helps make Lane Cove such a great place to sail. But for the canteen to operate we need volunteers. It is a fun place to work and you do not need any experience to help out.
We are trialing a new online Canteen Roster system and a new way of organising the staffing of the canteen. The times of the canteen shifts have been modified to make it easier for sailors to help out after their race is over. The new Evening Shift which runs from 5:00pm through to 7:00pm allows you time to get off the water, unrig, change and then help out in the canteen.
Every Saturday runs four shifts:
- Morning: 11:00am - 1:30pm
- Midday: 1:30pm - 4:00pm
- Afternoon: 4:00pm - 6:30pm
- Evening: 5:00pm - 7:00pm
The new rostering system is online and makes it easy to pick shift dates and times that suit you. If every sailor were to volunteer for one Evening Shift and if each non-sailing supporter were to volunteer for one or two shifts over the season we will have the roster filled in no time. That will allow us to have a fully functioning and effective canteen.
The midday shift is very quiet. Ideal if you want to relax and read a book or socialise on the deck while keeping an eye on the canteen!
