Australia Day Regatta

Australia Day 2022

186th Australia Day Regatta

The Australia Day Regatta, the oldest continuously-conducted annual sailing regatta in the world, has been conducted each year since 1837. From its beginnings, the regatta has been about equality and opportunity.

Lane Cove 12ft Sailing Skiff Club invites sabot sailors and their families to celebrate the 186th Australia Day Regatta on Sunday January 23, 2022. We have a day of serious fun and some not so serious racing planned.

Australia Day 2020

LC12ftSSC hosted the 184th Australia Day Regatta in the Sabot division with a fantastic turnout of both junior sailors and their families. A total of 31 boats raced on the day, 9 boats travelled down from Northern NSW including a family from Port Macquarie and 3 boats came from Drummoyne.

The BBQ was fired up early so all could enjoy Bacon and Egg Rolls followed by Chicken wraps and Lamb wraps with mint yoghurt sauce for lunch and Lamingtons for afternoon tea.

There was some competitive racing and overall the kids had a great day on the water sailing and then playing on the 'LillyPad' post lunch.

A big thank you to John Wotherspoon our Race Officer, Claudette Rones who assisted John and operated the radio and Jodie Coates, Cindy Reid and Anna Cullinane who did the registration, flags and scoring. Also a big thank you to all the parents who pitched in and helped on the day in a variety of ways, thank you!, Without your assistance the day could not happen.
