LC12ftSSC eSailing Championship

While sailing as we know it is on pause during COVID-19 restrictions, now is the time embrace eSailing on Virtual Regatta. Clubs across Australia have taken to the virtual waters in preparation for the upcoming Zhik Australian Sailing eSailing National Challenge.

Sailors join us to determine the LC12ftSSC eSailing Champion to represent the club at the eSailing State Championships.

Richard Kornman will act as our VRO (virtual race officer). The regatta starts in earnest on Saturday May 16 with heats (5 races, best 3 count). A maximum of 20 boats can participate in a Heat, so we may need to run an A, B & C fleet - subject to interest - or maybe we can do it by Class?

Scoring will be on LC12ftSSC’s Club Championship point score system, but with two drops instead of one (to allow for the inevitable bandwidth hiccups).

Heats : from 2pm Saturday 16th May

Finals : from 6pm Saturday 16th May

The top 12 boats overall from the heats go through to the final 5 Heat series final (best 3 to count), with the victor crowned LC12ftSSC VR Champion 2020. They will also be the Club’s nomination for the next round of the Zhik Australian Sailing eSailing National Challenge.

All you need is a smartphone, tablet or laptop to participate. Skippers, crews, parents, and response boat crews are all welcome to register.
