Training:
Power Boat Handling + Safety Boat Operator
The Club is offering Australian Sailing's excellent Powerboat Handling course on 15th February. There will be the option to gain your NSW General Boating licence with some additional onwater time. Licensing & training are critical to the safe operation of our Response boat fleet, and we require our RIB skippers to be members, licensed and competent around young sailors. Book for the course HERE or register your interest at training@lc12ftssc.org.au.
This course is FULL. More courses (4 min / 6 max) will be organised, subject to demand. Contact Karyn or Richard.
The Club is also offering Australian Sailing's excellent Safety Boat Operators' course on 22nd February. Licensing & training are critical to the safe operation of our Response boat fleet, and we require our RIB skippers to be members, licensed and competent around young sailors. This course is a prerequisite for the AS Sailing Coach qualification. Book for the course HERE or register your interest at training@lc12ftssc.org.au.

Our volunteer ADIs & DIs can use their LC12ftSSC training credits towards the cost of these courses.

Try Skiff Sailing!
We had a great day on 9th November, but VERY windy. We intend to repeat the event in the New Year
LC12ftSSC is offering a "Try Skiff Sailing" opportunity as part of Lane Cove's Festival of the River on Sunday 9th November, 2025. It's open to Club members wanting to experience the thrill of a skiff ride, or anyone in the community that would like to try this exhilarating pastime.
Registrations yet to open for 2026
For the less adventurous, come out on a Club powerboat to see the Lane Cove River and action up close, or just take in the magnificent River scenery from our shaded overwater deck. We will have a liquor licence for the day so you can purchase drinks and snacks from our licensed canteen (alas no BYO alcohol on Club premises is permitted).
