We offer introductory Start Sailing Holiday programs during the sailing season in the school holidays in October, December and January.

Start Sailing 2026/27 (preliminary dates)

Learn to Sail #1 - 6th - 9th October, 2026 (4 days)
Learn to Sail #2 - 21st - 23rd Dec, 2026 (3 days)
Learn to Sail #3 - 18th - 22nd Jan, 2027 (5 days)

All courses run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily
(complimentary 9am drop-off and 5pm pickup available, children will be supervised )

Transition to Racing

To build on water skills, we offer a weekly coaching session on Friday evenings in Spring and in Summer targeted at recent Learn to Sail (LTS) graduates. This 8-week program is complimentary for our most recent LTS graduates.

Spring: 17th October - 5th December, 2025 ✅
Summer: 30th January - 20th March, 2026 CONCLUDED

Autumn Training 2026

For Sabots & ILCA 4s, the Club is offering paid coaching every fortnight from Saturday 2nd May, 2026. It's a 5-session program with a 7:30am start to catch the land breeze. There is complimentary access to Club boats for eligible LTS graduates. Register here

Better Sailing Program

We are offering our more experienced junior sailing members & racers an opportunity to enhance their skills with a 3 or 4-day tailored coaching program in the September school holidays. Details and bookings coming shortly -

Each Start Sailing course has two groups

Beginners in Sabots – Designed for children aged from 8 to 12 who would like to learn the basic skills of sailing. For those that have never sailed before or have limited sailing experience.

Beginners in ILCA 4s – Designed for older students up to the age of 18 with little or no little sailing experience.

Pacer Dinghies - Provides the ability to pair an instructor with 1-3 children for additional fun & tuition, and for those occasional windy days.

Each program runs for 3, 4 or 5 days and covers both theory and practice.

What We Provide

- Training boats (10 Sabots, 4 ILCA 4s & 2 Pacers)
- Personal Flotation Devices - PFDs (Life Jackets)
- Sun protection cream
- A keen and dedicated group of instructors
- Graduation Certificate presentation on the final day

What You Need To Provide

- Kids keen to learn the basics of sailing that can swim at least 50 metres unassisted
- Parents who are keen for their kids to take on sailing as a sport
- Warm clothes for sailing, including a hat
- Suitable footwear
- Lunch, Morning and Afternoon snacks and refreshments
- We also encourage parents to spend some time during the week assisting with the course, from as little as 2 hours to the whole week. This allows the club’s volunteers to focus on teaching and adds another layer of safety.

Cost

$685 for a 5 day program / $590 for a 4 day program in 2026/27 includes:

- Club Membership for the season.
- Complimentary Transition-to-Racing program for 6-8 weeks immediately following the course (on Friday evenings)
- Use of the Club's "Learn to Sail" Sabots or ILCA 4s in the Transition-to-Racing program
- Use of the Club’s “Learn to Sail” Sabots or ILCA 4s in Club Racing immediately following the course for the season.
- Discounts for existing members & returning LTS graduates

Active Kids Voucher

The NSW goverment is helping kids get active with the active kids program. The Active Kids program provides two $50 vouchers for parents, guardians and carers of school-enrolled children to use towards sport and active recreation costs each year.

LC12ftSSC has been approved as an Active Kids Program provider. Vouchers can be used to cover course enrolment fees as well as membership fees.
